Giving Back to the Community

The Moresco family created the Midland Pacific Foundation to benefit community organizations involved with youth, education and housing related issues in communities in which Midland Pacific Homes is currently or has been active. To increase the effectiveness of their contributions, the Foundation encourages requests for funds in the form of matching grants. Here’s a sampling of recent foundation contributions:

Since early 2005, the Midland Pacific Foundation has already bolstered the community with matching grants topping $100,000. A sampling of some of their gifts:

Habitat for Humanity
Midland Pacific challenged other area builders to match a $25,000 contribution to enable SLO County Habitat for Humanity build a house for Hurricane Katrina victims. The house was shipped to Alabama in April of 2006.

Paso Robles High School Skills USA
Recognizing the need for skilled craftsmen in building trades, the MPF granted $15,000 in matching funds to the Skills USA program to allow students to compete in this nationwide program.

Atascadero High School AVID Program
The Moresco family recognizes the importance of educating youth to bolster a community for the future. They are especially interested in helping young people who might otherwise fall through the cracks and offered $25,000 matching grants to Atascadero High School to address this need.

SLO County YMCA
Local latchkey kids were helped with a substantial contribution to the SLO County YMCA to fund an after-school program serving minority children in the community of San Miguel.

City of Atascadero Historic Pavilion
Midland Pacific Foundation was the first organization to answer the mayor’s challenge for private funds to help maintain an historic community center in the city of Atascadero, home to Midland Pacific’s headquarters offices.

How to be considered for a Midland Pacific Foundation Grant:
The Midland Pacific Foundation’s mission is to fund specific projects in communities where Midland Pacific Homes is currently or has been active. Requests for matching funds receive priority consideration. Anyone interested in submitting a request for funds may mail their request to the Midland Pacific Foundation at 7305 Morro Road, Suite 200, Atascadero, CA 93422.
